Susan Mathison is a personal trainer, athlete, and the creator of the Momentum Method™, a practical and empowering 3-phase framework designed to help midlife women and stay-at-home moms reconnect with their strength, energy, and confidence from the inside out.

Her journey began in 2003, when she left her job as a zookeeper, returned home to Washington State, and committed to transforming her health and fitness. Training alongside her mom and her mom’s trainer, a competitive bodybuilder, Susan was inspired to enter her first bodybuilding competition in 2005. That moment launched a 20+ year athletic career that includes earning her IFBB Pro Card, competing in the Olympia and Masters Olympia, and ranking among the Top 50 strongest women in her powerlifting weight class.

In 2009, Susan became a certified personal trainer and discovered her true calling: helping real women tap into their power and build lives and bodies they love. She began training clients in California before relocating to rural Washington, where she ran in-person and online sessions for women of all ages and fitness levels, sometimes on a cement patio with a few mats and dumbbells. In 2017, she opened her own gym in Wenatchee, WA, training everyone from beginners lifting their first barbell to athletes preparing for the stage.

 With a champion’s mindset and a coach’s heart, Susan is especially known for her work with midlife women who are thriving in their careers or family life but feel disconnected from their bodies. She meets her clients exactly where they are, with compassion, science-backed strategies, and lived experience that speaks to the real challenges women face in reclaiming their health and confidence. 

 Susan also holds a bachelor’s degree in horticulture from Washington State University with an emphasis in viticulture and enology, which is a nod to her curiosity and multifaceted background. Whether she's coaching a woman through her first pull-up, preparing an athlete for a bodybuilding competition, or guiding a busy mom toward renewed energy and strength, Susan brings unmatched expertise, deep empathy, and a belief that it’s never too late to feel powerful again.
